Our pre-professional full year program has seven (7) levels of progression for children ages 3-18.
The arts are a valuable tool that provide children the means to express themselves. Tools that are learned through the discipline of dance are transferable into other areas of life.
Many of our children have auditioned and performed at the Kennedy Center over the years. Every year, with the exclusion of COVID-19, we send our students to audition for the Kennedy Center’s annual holiday performance of The Nutcracker, and every year a few of our children are always accepted. To be chosen in a professional audition amongst other youth from dance programs all over the greater Washington area is a huge accomplishment. It speaks to the caliber of the training we offer at The New School of Dance & Arts, and the skills and talent we develop in our students.
What we give our dancers is a sense of beauty and wonder that stays with them for many years. The arts build strong character and a lifelong quest for excellence.
We have master classes taught by professional all over the world and who have achieved great things in the Arts community.
Our students travel to New York to train at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Ailey Extension and The Ailey professional division with full scholarships.
